The Reincarnation Trap Theory Is New. Its Ingredients Are Ancient.

The reincarnation trap theory is wonderfully efficient.

You die.

You encounter beings or a brilliant light.

They convince you to return.

Your memories are erased.

You wake up as a baby and begin paying bills again.

According to modern prison-planet versions, this is not spiritual development. It is captivity.

There is no ancient text that neatly lays out the current internet theory in this form.

But its components are old.

Some Gnostic writings describe a material cosmos ruled by lesser powers called archons. In The Reality of the Rulers, the rulers create and constrain humanity while a higher spiritual reality exists beyond their domain. Liberation comes through awakening to that higher origin.

Plato's Myth of Er offers a different mechanism. Souls are judged, choose new lives and return to incarnation, with their choices binding them to what comes next.

Other traditions describe post-death states, rebirth and the possibility of escaping the cycle entirely.

The modern reincarnation trap theory combines these old anxieties with near-death reports, UFO mythology, simulation ideas and the internet's reliable conviction that somebody, somewhere, is running a scam.

It is essentially metaphysical phishing.

What makes the theory compelling is not its evidence.

It is the possibility that even death might contain terms and conditions.
